18-793 – Optical Image and Radar Processing

Principles of incoherent and coherent (laser) light sources; laser modulation and detection. Fundamentals of optics, optical design, holography and optical computers for information processing, pattern recognition, robots, radar, sonar, biomedicine, reconnaissance and electronic warfare. Using fundamental concepts, emphasis is given to image and signal processing applications.

Prerequisite: 18-396 and senior or graduate standing.
