ECE faculty and students collaborated on an article accepted for the Proceedings of the IEEE, titled: "Electronic Textiles: A Platform for Pervasive Computing." They will send out the final version in August, and anticipate a 2003 publication date. The paper's authors from Carnegie Mellon include: Assistant Professors of ECE Diana and Radu Marculescu; ECE Department Head and Philip and Marsha Dowd Professor of ECE and Robotics, Pradeep Khosla; and ECE Ph.D. students Phillip Stanley-Marbell and Nicholas Zamora. Other partners in creating the research are the Textile Information Systems Research Laboratory, School of Textile & Fiber Engineering at Georgia Institute of Technology; Infineon Technologies AG, Corporate Research, Emerging Technologies in Munich, Germany; and the Wearable Computing Laboratory, Electronics Laboratory at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zrich, Switzerland.
