Schlesinger Serves as General Co-chair for Optical Data Storage Meeting

ECE Department Head T.E. (Ed) Schlesinger is a general co-chair of this week's Optical Data Storage Topical Meeting (ODS '06) in Montreal, Canada. In 2004, ECE Professor Vijayakumar Bhagavatula served as general co-chair; he is currently a member of the technical program committee, along with Schlesinger.
This year's conference will focus on high density recording systems using holographic, volumetric, near field, super resolution, and hybrid technology. Sponsors for the event include the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), the Lasers and Electro-Optics Society (LEOS), the International Society for Optical Engineering (SPIE), and the Optical Society of America (OSA).
