Undergraduate Program Tour

The Integrated Master's/Bachelor (IMB) program

The Integrated Master's/Bachelor's program (otherwise known as the IMB program) is an exciting opportunity for students who excel academically to achieve not just a Bachelor's degree in ECE, but also a Master's degree — through our Professional MS degree program — without needing to apply separately. This means no application fee, and no need to take the GRE (Graduate Record Exam) either.

If a student is at least a 2nd semester junior, has completed at least 270 units and has at least a 3.00 QPA, he or she is guaranteed admission into the Professional MS degree in ECE through the IMB program. To be officially admitted, the student must complete the IMB Program form.

The primary purpose of the IMB degree program is to provide students with superior breadth and depth in technical material, which will better prepare them for careers in industry.

In the face of the ever-increasing technological and international complexity of the workplace, the additional year of advanced undergraduate and graduate courses required for the IMB. degrees substantially enhances a student's preparation to contribute in an industrial position. The advanced education attainable via the program is likely to be better integrated, of higher quality and more sophisticated than the professional education that would be pursued at other colleges or universities as a part-time or evening program.

Financial Aid for IMB Degrees

The financial aid that the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering offers IMB students is in the form of Teaching Assistantships (for tuition credit) and Research Assistantships (for academic and tuition credit). These positions comprise a variable number of hours of work per week.
