Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) is a broad discipline involved in creating many of the computing and communication systems that are revolutionizing the world in which we live. What makes this field so exciting is that the sciences on which it is based — physics, mathematics, and computer science — are themselves expanding at a great rate. New discoveries in physical phenomena and algorithms are enabling higher performance systems, as well as totally new engineering applications. The penetration of technology into our lives is also changing the nature of the engineering profession, creating more opportunities — and more social responsibility.
Carnegie Mellon offers guided tours of the campus and the ECE Department. Visitors may also take a self-guided walking tour of Hamerschlag Hall.
Meet with a student tour guide for information about our undergraduate labs, curriculum, activities and student groups. Our student tour guides are members of Eta Kappa Nu, the ECE Honor Society. Request an undergraduate tour of ECE.
If you have completed the ECE undergraduate tour, please fill out the ECE Undergraduate Tour Questionnaire.
For a tour of the entire campus, contact Carnegie Mellon University Admissions, or take a virtual tour of CMU.
