"Snack Night" Socials

"Snack Night" Socials are held weekly in the ECE Undergraduate Lounge (HH 1113), typically on Wednesday nights from 8:30-10:30PM. HKN Sigma Chapter knows that Carnegie Mellon's students are no strangers to long hours of study, so these socials serve as a reminder to take a break and snack on chips, cookies, carrots and dip, soda, juice, and other tasty treats.

Department Tours

HKN Sigma Chapter members offer guided tours of Carnegie Mellon's Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering for prospective students who may be considering our undergraduate program. These tours are provided as a public service and are free of charge, but they must be scheduled at least one week in advance.

To schedule a guided tour, please complete the request form here. HKN Sigma Chapter also encourages prospective students to participate in one of the campus tours provided by Carnegie Mellon's Office of Undergraduate Admission.

Mentoring Program

Eta Kappa Nu's mentoring program pairs an ECE junior or senior with a less experienced ECE student (typically a freshman or a sophomore). The purpose is to create networks and non-academic relationships between peers. It is our hope that students will be able to get more out of their ECE curriculum and experiences at Carnegie Mellon through their interaction with a more experienced student.
